This was my first extended outting with my new 5d Mark III and I love the camera. The focus is so accurate that I had very few misses. The 5d is amazing at high ISOs. ISO 12800 is completely usable with a little noise reduction.

I'd say the 5d Mark III has a 2-stop advantage over my 1ds Mark III which is barely tolerable at ISO 1600. In dark venues like the Carmel Mission and in the coastal redwood community of Palo Colorado Canyon I used auto ISO and got great results.

In camera HDR did not impress me especially since the output is a jpeg file that has minimum headroom for tweaking.

Another thing I am very pleased with is the sharp Raw files. All my lenses perform better on this body and the new 24-70L II is just phenomenal. The 5d files take about half the sharpening as I've gotten used to applying and the files look sharper before and after post processing.

Overall I am very impressed with the 5d Mark III and I look forward to using this camera in my travels!
