In August 2009 we went to Katmai NP to view and photograph Alaskan brown bears. We flew into Katmai by floatplane from Kodiak and we stayed on a converted tugboat, circa 1942, for four days while visiting several bays on the Katmai Coast.
The bears and the national park were amazing, as were the other parts of Alaska that we visited: Anchorage, Prince William Sound and Kodiak. You can see my complete Alaska galleries here:
